Marriage | What Did I Get Myself Into

"What Did I Get Myself Into"

On July 16th, 2018, my husband and I were on a cruise ship heading to the Bahamas for our honeymoon the day after our wedding day & it felt literally like a dream!!!

Soon after we took off I started to feel the ship move a bit toooo much for my liking, and I got sea sick.
The first thought that came to my head was "What did I get myself into"?? Would I be sea sick this whole time???

But, a couple hours later I began to feel much better. I don't know if it was because the ship became more steady or I adjusted to the feeling of the ship moving, or both.

Listen, transitioning into marriage is the exaaact same way. I could not believe I was actually MARRIED, it felt like a dream!!! I was not visiting the uncharted territory of marriage, I made my home there.

When the movement of the marriage made me feel a bit unsteady and frustrated, I remember thinking at that time "What did I get myself into??" In spite of the movement, God still showed up and showed out for us in our marriage.

See, don't let the shaky movement of marriage make you jump ship. Stay on ... WHY?

Because marriage is not a LIGHT SWITCH, it takes TIME, PATIENCE and ENDURANCE.

Marriage is not for the faint of heart. If you let it, marriage can help bring the BEST out of YOU and your SPOUSE rather than the WORST.

If you want to maximize the potential of your marriage, SAVE YOUR MARRIAGE BEFORE IT STARTS!!! If you have already started ITS NOT TOOO LATE!!

But, you cannot save it by yourselves you need God, each other, and someone to hold you all accountable!!!

Remember this "A struggle does not ALWAYS mean its a sign to jump ship".

Article: Overcoming Fear

by Candace N. Bennett | Fear defined | "That scares me", is something we are all too familiar with. Feeling afraid or scared is an emotion that is actually good for us. But, because of sin, we have the tendency to have unhealthy fear. Healthy fear protects, but unhealthy fear inhibits. According to June Hunt, "fear is in the mind of the beholder" (Hunt, 2013, p.5). What one person fears may not be fear inducing for another. June Hunt specifically defines fear as "a strong emotional reaction, real or imagined, rational, or irrational, normal or abnormal, to a perceived imminent danger characterized by a fight, flight, or freeze response" (Hunt, 2013, p. 9-10). In order to be mindful of fear in our daily lives we have to recognize how it is affecting our actions and choices? Symptoms of Fear Fear can express itself in numerous ways from rational to irrational fear. You are dealing with rational fear if you have been experiencing increased breathing, energy,
